“I have been studying with Ken for 4 years now. Doing Tai Chi helps me to feel graceful for the first time in my life. I have gained many health benefits from the practice including improved balance, a firmer connection to the ground, and a totally new way to use my body as a whole motion. Ken patiently leads group in the spirit of the practice from cultural context to practical application. I feel very fortunate to be able to study with him.”

“I have practiced Tai Chi for over a year with Ken.
Practicing Tai Chi consistently has improved my chronic cough condition. I learned how to control breathing through practicing the Tai Chi movements, directing the energy flow or the so called Chi in my body. I also start to keep better balance, building more stability. Besides the forms, I also learned standing meditation and sitting meditation. I love to apply sitting meditation when I take a flight. It helps to cease backache from sitting in the tiny airplane chair for hours. Cloud hand is one of the forms I love practicing over and over especially after a long day using the computer, it helps my sore arms and wrists.
Constant practice helps me to calm down and relax. At the same time, I enjoy meeting up with a very nice group sharing the same passion in practicing Tai Chi.”

“My wife and I have studied with Ken for over 5 years. We meet once a week and belong to an advanced Tai Chi class – all of whom have been his students for at least 3 years (most of them 5 years, like us). I also attend another class mid-week.
Ken is a GREAT teacher in both Tai Chi form and its history that his direct connection with the Yang family makes possible. He attends seminars around the world and reads extensively on current advances in medicine and physiology which he shares with us. He also brings his knowledge of many forms of martial arts to us and is very patient with us when we don’t immediately grasp a new form.
He is our teacher and a friend we are proud to know.
We look forward to continuing our Tai Chi education with Ken.”

“I met Ken Ning in January of 2014. I was the group exercise coordinator at the Highland Park Recreation Center. I was in need of an experienced Tai Chi instructor. My previous instructor had left with little notice. I received Ken’s name from one of my active seniors who suffered from Parkinson's Disease. Ken had a reputation in the North Shore as a top instructor. I sought out Ken and hired him after meeting with him. Ken was intelligent, articulate, sincere, kind, patient and an outstanding instructor. He connected with our members on many levels. He was always on time and prepared. He always had a smile on his face and was patient with our population. I recommend him without reservation. He will be an asset to your program.”

“Tai Chi class has helped me to remain flexible, alert, and active in my 70s. Teacher Ning is dedicated to the support and promotion of Tai Chi with years of training, practice, certification and support of his students' improvement. His personal encouragement is very reassuring.”

“I have been attending Tai Chi classes led by Ken Ning for 2 years and have found that there are many benefits to the ancient Chinese exercise. I initially signed up for the class to learn how to calm my mind after being diagnosed with an illness. To my surprise, I learned that Tai Chi not only has a meditative effect that produces relaxation, but it also has many physiological benefits. It has helped to improve my balance, and the slow deliberate leg movements have helped to improve my bone strength. In addition, it is a mentally stimulating and challenging exercise. Most important, Ken is an extremely knowledgeable, skilled and wonderful teacher!! He is very patient and repeatedly demonstrates and explains all moves. I absolutely love the class!”

I have found that studying Tai Chi with Ken Ning has been a transformational experience - totally different (and better) than the Tai Chi I was learning elsewhere. He teaches all 4 types of Tai Chi - chi gong, Tai Chi forms, meditation and partner exercises. It has been a joy to learn these things and practice them (nearly) daily at home. Also I'm excited to learn that he will be offering calligraphy!
